  1. We're still here!

Posted 11 April 2009, 09:05 by The Kennel

You get so busy, and suddenly you realize it’s been 3 months since you updated the blog. High time we caught up, eh?

Pawn’s Rebellion finished mixing their debut LP, and Third Border mastered their Kennel-produced album. Panther Tighter tracked basics and overdubs with James Pertusi, and the legendary Squirrels From Hell recorded and mixed an EP with Billy “Prince Polo” Szeflinski.

    K. Page and Sleepwalkers Parade recorded a song for a video (she’ll return this summer to start work on an album) and Jonathan “JLA” Lachance sang for kids. SEXCOP neared the end of a long and winding road, The O’Fenders put down an an album’s worth of tracks with Wharton Tiers, and Destroy Babylon came down for Boston for an amazing weekend session with Billy (look for a 7” 45 release soon).

Whew! And we’re just getting started…

Upcoming: Notorious comic, writer and radio personality Laura Dinnebeil and The Undeciders (featuring members of New Radiant Storm King and the Wharton Tiers Ensemble).

Stay tuned for news about our First Anniversary Party next month! Drop us a line if you want to be invited.

  2. The Kennel feels like home to me and the Sharp Things. We’ve recorded a few tunes at the studio thus far, with stellar results, and we’re breaking ground later this month on our fourth album and we couldn’t be more excited. The engineers are top-notch, the gear runs from sought-after vintage to state-of-the-art, and the overall vibe is friendly, cool and accommodating. And while the space is modest-sized, the acoustics are grand and there’s an enviable view of the Manhattan skyline.
