Norwegian splatter-folk duo Thinguma*jigSaw were in earlier this month for an intense (and intensely magical) six days of recording for their second LP.

Working with producer Jim Santo and engineer James Pertusi, Seth Horatio Buncombe (voice, banjo) and Martha Redivivus (flute, musical saw, melodica, kalimba) recorded an incredible 30 songs, of which 20 were mixed (some remainder will be completed in Dublin).

Among the highlights were haunting renditions of “Keep It Real,” “We’re All Doomed” and our personal favorite, “Mockumentary.”

We wish we could share some of this incredible music with you, but, well, it’s not ready! Check their MySpace profile for updates. This will be a truly special album, trust us.

  2. “I always expect making a record in a real studio to be a nerve-wracking experience, but Jamie and Jim at the Kennel made me feel right at home, indulging my perfectionist tendencies and caring as much as I did about making my band’s record sound good. Their enthusiasm for their work was obvious. I really looked forward to going to the studio each day, and I’m extremely happy with the results. I’d recommend the Kennel to anyone.
