  1. The Big Push: Life in flux

It’s all balls-out to be ready for Third Border next weekend. James wrestled the G5 to the ground this weekend, prevailing over insane software to fill the control room with the sound of The Behoovers’ Boca Raton — ironically, the last recording done at the old Kennel in DUMBO.

While James filled the air with sound, Jim and Wharton filled it with smoking flux and solder fumes as assembly of patch cables continued.

Coming up: James finishes wiring the AMR2400, Wharton starts connecting the rack gear, and Jim tackles the personal monitoring system.

  2. I’ve recorded at the Kennel a few times now and hope to record there many more. The room and equipment are outstanding, as is the skill and experience of the engineers. It’s a super-friendly environment with people that just want you to achieve exactly what you hear in your head. The Kennel folks are always excited about your session and excited about getting the sound just right. I’m a big fan of these lovely men.
