James and Jim start work today on mixing the new LP by FOX Japan with lead singer, guitarist and song writer Charlie Wilmoth, who flew in from San Diego for the occasion. That wraps up on Monday, after which jazz trombonist Bradley Madsen will be coming in with his quartet. Barnacle Bill, featuring guitarist Stu Klinger (formerly of The Rake’s Progress) will be in soon to work on their new album with Billy at the helm, as will Yachtmen 3 (formerly The Deciders NYC and The Undeciders), a side project by Matt Hunter of New Radiant Storm King that also includes members of the Wharton Tiers Ensemble.
The big news, though, is the start of our Rabid In The Kennel series of Internet radio shows with host Jack Rabid of The Big Takeover. Some well-known artists have been dropping by for exclusive live recordings and interviews by Jack, including power-pop luminaries The Posies, punk-rock legend T.V. Smith and the wonderful Joe Pernice of the Pernice Brothers. The show airs at least once a month on BreakThru Radio. Visit rabidinthekennel.com for more info.

“The Kennel is a really cool studio that you can let loose in. Once you close the door nothing matters but the music. All the guys that work there are ultra relaxed but diligent and understand what it takes to get a great sound.”
