  1. Full Day Studio Rate
$300 a day for a 10-hour day. Rate does not include engineer.

If a client books 3 or more days at one time, the rate is $250 a day.

    Half Day Studio Rate
$200 with a 4-hour minimum. If a half-day session goes past 5 hours, full day rates apply. Rate does not include engineer.

    Engineer Rate
Negotiated with the engineer or studio manager. Engineer rates are paid separately to the engineer. Our current staff engineers are James Pertusi, Billy Szeflinski and Wharton Tiers.

Studio rates do not include the cost of analog tape, DVDs, CDs, hard drives, rental equipment, producers, engineers, assistants or session musicians.

A session begins billing at the time the client booked it for, whether the client is present or not, and continues until the final load out.

Time used beyond the 10-hour lock-out day will be billed at $50 an hour. A $50 closeout fee is required for each day that extends beyond midnight.

    SCHEDULING & BOOKING POLICY

A client may place studio time on “hold” status without paying a deposit in advance. If we receive another request for that same time, or any portion thereof, from another client who is prepared to “firm” the time via cash deposit, the original client will be given one courtesy call to secure that time. If the original client cannot or will not firm the time with an agreement or deposit, that time will be forfeited to the other client.

A deposit, as well as any tape costs, is required prior to first scheduled recording session by cash, money order, cashier’s check, or through PayPal (3.5% processing charge will be applied to PayPal payments).

The deposit must be paid 48 hours prior to the start of the session. Clients may request to bring the deposit to the first session, but we not obligated to agree to such requests, and the deposit must be paid before work begins that day. Clients who arrive for their first session without their deposit having been paid will be refused service, and will be liable for the full cost of the session.

Additional deposits may be requested during the course of the booking.

Cash deposits are equal to 1/2 of the total estimated project cost.

If any part of the client’s “firmed” time is canceled prior to or during the booking, without sufficient notice, the client may be charged for any and all such time which the studio is unable to reschedule.

All services are C.O.D. We do not extend credit to any individual nor to any company other than large corporate institutions such as major record, motion picture, and television companies. Balance is payable at completion of each session.

No partial payments. A session must be paid for, in full, before the start of the next session. Clients who for a session without their payments owed will be refused service, and will also be liable for the full cost of that session.

No materials will be released until C.O.D. account has been settled in full.

No personal checks will be accepted unless management grants that privilege in advance.

Charges shown on an invoice shall be deemed final and conclusive unless the client makes a claim for adjustment within 30 days following.

  2. I’ve recorded at the Kennel a few times now and hope to record there many more. The room and equipment are outstanding, as is the skill and experience of the engineers. It’s a super-friendly environment with people that just want you to achieve exactly what you hear in your head. The Kennel folks are always excited about your session and excited about getting the sound just right. I’m a big fan of these lovely men.
