  1. Hi Mom!

Third Border returned today and did sterling work. Chris Welcome laid down some fine cello tracks in the early afternoon. We hope to see him again soon.

Ben then took over and, incredibly, nailed all his vocals for the album, clearing the way for mixing to begin in a few weeks. Gerard added harmonies on a song, and Jim (who oversaw the session for the vacationing Wharton), was recruited to recite the spoken-word portion of Laurie Anderson’s “Oh Superman.”

James Pertusi and Andrew Duggan manned the board today.

  2. My experience at the Kennel was top notch. James Pertusi is, by far, the best engineer I’ve worked with. The quality of tone he recorded for my trombone reflects exactly how I hear my sound. The room has the warmth of the older jazz studios, with the level of sound control you expect out of the modern studios. I can’t wait to record at the Kennel again.
