Flooring begins
Posted 12 March 2008, 10:48 by The Kennel
At long last we’ve begun laying our solid oak floor, beginning in the control room, where last night we glued down 14 rows of planks.

The work went fast once we got rolling, and the Green Glue seems sufficiently adhesive for the job (in addition to holding down the planks, the Green Glue will significantly increase the sound dampening characteristics of the control room floor). Sure hope so.
Our goal is to complete all flooring by next weekend; don’t know if that’s realistic, but we’ll sure try. The main thing, though, is to get the control room done so we can get our recording gear out of storage and into the studio. (That, and loading in the remainder of the flooring; if the elevator is not fixed soon, we’ll have to hump it up the stairs. Ugh.)

“We were floored by how great our music sounded at such an affordable price. We would recommend recording at The Kennel to any band that cares about their music, and wants it recorded in a relaxed, no stress, setting. I doubt we will ever record at any other studio as long as we live in New York.“
